MASS Barrier Delivery in Central London

The Brief:

Central London is very well known for issues with traffic, so when a Traffic Management company needed to set up a single road lane closure in the city centre, they knew that getting the right traffic barriers delivered, as well as unloaded at the busy city-centre construction area, could potentially be as big a problem as closing the lane itself.

The Solution:

Company approached SafeSite Facilities and hired 80m of the specialist MASS Barrier system with Site Guard fencing. This barrier system is a non-permanent but highly robust, effective system for both traffic management and site protection. With the Central London location of the site, the combination of Mass Barriers with Site Guard fencing offered excellent protection for vehicles and persons on all sides of the barrier, particularly as a range of high-visibility signage was easily added to help alert traffic and pedestrians to the works.

Because the system was required for a 10 week period, the company took advantage of being able to hire from SafeSite Facilities, as a cost-effective alternative to purchasing for this project.

 

The Outcome:

The team at SafeSite Facilities were delivered the system for overnight deployment when city traffic would be minimal in comparison to daytime congestion. SafeSite Facilities delivered the full 80m of Mass Barriers, as well as each additional Site Guard fence panel, using a standard delivery vehicle. The equipment was then unloaded using a crane lorry off the back of the delivery vehicle.

In the Future:
