SafeSite Facilities was contacted to repair and reinforce timber hoarding that we originally installed several years ago at a location in West Sussex. Over time, the hoarding had naturally weathered, and following a series of recent storms, some panels had become loose, compromising the security of the site. The client needed immediate action to ensure the site remained secure while we scheduled a permanent repair.
Challenges:
Several challenges presented themselves during the repair process:
Solution:
Upon receiving the call, SafeSite Facilities acted quickly by scheduling an urgent site visit. Our team tested the integrity of the hoarding and assessed the damage. Fortunately, most of the timber posts were secure and root-fixed in the ground. However, a few of the support posts had weakened over time and needed to be replaced to ensure the hoarding could support the new ply sheets.
In the meantime, we installed Heras fencing around the perimeter to maintain site security while we carried out the necessary repairs. The Heras fencing was carefully fitted to the existing timber frame to ensure no gaps in security during the repair period.
Execution:
The repair process began with dismantling the damaged sections of the hoarding. Once the failed panels were removed, we proceeded with reinforcing the framework. This included replacing the weakened support posts, which was crucial for ensuring the hoarding would remain stable and secure for years to come. We carefully selected replacement posts that matched the original installation, ensuring consistency in appearance and function.
After reinforcing the framework, we installed new ply hoarding to replace the damaged panels. Once the hoarding was securely in place, we completed the project by painting the new panels in the client’s corporate colours, restoring the professional appearance of the site.
The work was completed efficiently and on schedule, overcoming the restricted access due to the tree line and bank, while ensuring the site was safe and secure throughout the process.

Client Feedback:
The client was highly satisfied with the quick response and quality of work carried out. They appreciated the professionalism of the SafeSite Facilities team, especially in handling the challenges posed by restricted access and the need for a quick, effective solution.
Conclusion:

By reinforcing and repairing the timber hoarding, we not only secured the site but also extended the life of the hoarding, ensuring it remains a reliable solution for the client’s construction site. Our team’s expertise in managing both the practical and aesthetic aspects of site security continues to be a key factor in delivering successful outcomes for our clients.
