SafeSite Facilities won a major facilities project to supply products and installation service for a larger contractor to transform a former children hospital in Edinburgh into a student accommodation. This 2-year project initiated in August 2021 with possibility of extending for longer period.
SafeSite also worked for the same contractor, however in a different location – Manchester. This was a co-living cluster project aimed at creating 2,224 bedroom scheme in a 45 storey tower.
Edinburgh – we provided and installed timber hoarding erected in August 2021 and painted in corporate colours. Hoarding was constructed for the demolition that was completed end of January 2022. Other supplied and installed products were oversized vehicle gates (8 metres). Due to the size of the project, we faced challenges in this residential area. Meetings with local residence committee was required once a week to get access for the fencing to be built and private vehicles cleared off the area.
Manchester – we provided and installed timber hoarding on blocks and concrete barrels, vehicle gates, free standing steel walls on blocks and trays. This project project presented some challenges too – central location which required pre-planning of lorries and routes due to constant interaction with the public.
The client was very happy with the outcome and scope of works provided by us.
